  • 18th Century Civilian & Militiaman Lifestyle will allow students to experience and  participate in a slice of 18th century civilian and military  life.  The program can be designed so that students can research topics from this time period,  make their own presentation on different topics of interest, or act out a historical character of their choice.  Designed for grades 2-6.
  • The Revolutionary War Encampment  is a visit to the military  encampment of the Virginia 7th Regiment of the Continental Line, circa 1781.  Students will  participate in an interactive presentation of 18th century military life with Private Thomas Daniel Bloodsworth who  will tell in story and song about the  life of an individual soldier.   Learn about the causes and effects of  the American Revolutionary War, and the ideas on which a new nation will be built. Suitable for grades 2-6
  •  18th Century Medicine Show!   A fascinating look at medicine in Colonial America and the Revolutionary War will provide participants with an unique perspective of the life style of this time period.  Dr. Thomas Daniel Bloodsworth, Surgeon of the Virginia 7th Regiment of the Continental  Line will bring to students 18th century medical theory, authentic medical instruments,  herbs and medicines that will entertain and educate students and adults as well.  Suitable for grades 4 and up.
  • Colonial Days in the Classroom will bring  to the classroom School Master Thomas Daniel Bloodsworth, Esquire!  Practicing  penmanship with quill and ink, spelling bees, participating in colonial crafts such as making candles and butter, playing old fashion games, and much more, will make for a fun learning experience for one to three days.  Beware:  Students who don't learn their lessons will end up wearing a dunce hat!   Suitable for grades 2-6.

  • Patriot’s Parade~Celebrate America! is an interactive school wide parade, with a  Revolutionary drummer boy, authentic Minuteman, inspirational speeches, patriotic songs and marching music, The Pledge of Allegiance, presentation of historical flags, and much more, that make for a fun and exciting program for grades K-6.
  • The Flag Day Celebration is a classroom wide parade presented to adults and classmates, complete with patriotic songs and marching music,  the Pledge of Allegiance and a presentation of historical American Flags.  A fun and learning experience for grades 4-6.

  • Thomas Bertrand, a current resident of Virginia and certified teacher is originally from Michigan and is a graduate of Michigan State University and Aquinas College, with majors in Social Science and Business Administration and a minor in History.  He has built upon his interest in American history, historical re-enactment and vexillology (the study of flags) to research and produce the programs listed in this brochure.
